Papercraft Final

This is my final Master Chief helmet design I did for the project. The edits i did on the prototype really helped out a lot on the process, and the colors and extra little details make it pop that much more. Although small, I pretty proud of this one.

Paper Craft Project

For my figure I decided to refine the design to be more streamlined and more accessible while still having the same look and feel.

old new

Initial design was too small as well as the tabs.

I printed the new and more accessible forms which came in 4 pages.
Some tabs had overlap on folds which I had to trim.

Base of the helmet done
Another tab overlap.
Some areas had too much tabs that I had to trim away.
Here I had to trim away a tab because it was in an awkward position. I should have attached it on the opposite side.
Visor/Middle part done
Glued together

here I had tabs missing that I took notes to add later on.
I had to cut a hole at the bottom to be able to glue the insides.
The example of tabs missing resulting in open folds in the inside of this top part.
Top of the helmet done.
3 part done

I added the smaller details on the front and sides and finished!

Paper Assignment

For my Design I decided to do Master Chief helmet from the Halo series video game. It was a big part of my teenage years growing up and one of the most iconic character in video games. It might not look like it, but I felt it was a little too ambitious attempt for my design, and I might have to tone it down for my final. It's definitely going to need some refinements but I really committed to the complexity of this design.

Papercraft Objects Samples

For this weeks assignment, I decided to go with a simple form of a hatchback car. It includes the body, wheels, wheel openings, and headlights. I kept it really simple as I want to put in all the time and effort to making an actual detailed version of a car because it is something I see myself working on for the final project. I now have a feel of it and it will definitely be a challenge to add all the extra curves and details. So far, a car is what I plan on doing but It could change.

I also did some smaller objects in room like a plug in:

And a console controller:
