Hybrid Design

For my Hybrid design, I got partnered up with Josh Mackay. 

My initial designs were very experimental, as I was trying to get the hang of some tools and commands.

Josh and I decided to use this design of his to combine with mine. I couldn't decide on which to use for mine so we played around to see which one could work well. 

I modified one of my designs and tapered it so I could place his on top. I was going for a trophy or some sort of like structural monument type of design.

Then I experimented with my vine like design, modified it, and wrapped it around his design.

This gave me an idea of a vine like structure that would hold Josh's design up. I decided to pass up on it.

Then to match his design aesthetically, I started to make a more straight edged tower like structure to hold his design.

Ultimately, we decided on the initial vine like design and we decided to test it.

Unfortunately it was too small and the platform that the design rests on didn't work.

So we decided to add a paraboloid and a cone underneath so it would taper up.

after some variations, we decided on this one 

After some testings, everything was successful.
